The Kaziranga-Karbi Anglong Landscape

The forests from Bokaghat in the East to Jakhalabandha in the West up to the Brahmaputra River were ideal habitat for a wide variety of wildlife in Assam. Owing to human settlements and increasing development pressures, the biodiversity of the region is now restricted to the Kaziranga-Karbi Anglong landscape consisting of the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) and the Karbi-Anglong (KA) hill complex.

We work closely with local primary schools in the area to select highly motivated intelligent students who come from pastoralist backgrounds and whose families are unable to afford the school fees.

Sponsoring these young people provides them with a rare and precious opportunity that will change their lives.

Our unique brand of conservation education encourages students to become ambassadors of their rich environment. We also give opportunities to friends around the world to help educate these malleable young minds, while improving the infrastructure of their schools.

For a long time, conservation and technology evolved independently. Today, conservation has inextricable links with information technology, and innovative solutions to conservation problems now abound. STE’s ground-breaking collaboration with Google Earth is one such success story.
